Our mission at Bonfarado.org is to provide people with a free fundraising platform (less payment processing fees) that can enable them to fundraise for worthy projects. Whether it’s raising money for medical bills, trying to help the local community or even just to raise funds for a cause that you are passionate about, we want to provide you with a crowdfunding opportunity.
When it comes to charity, we understand that every penny counts and we want to make sure that your donation gets to where it’s needed most without worrying about added costs. Why should you be charged more to help others?
How are we a free fundraising platform?
It’s the hidden costs in life that often make you ask the question “How is it free?” or “Does free fundraising really work?”. At Bonfarado.org our aim is to build a community of those that like to and are able to help others, which is why instead charging you to use our fundraising platform, we’ve instead added the option to leave a voluntary ‘tip’ for us instead. These tips will allow us maintain our free platform and continue to give a free fundraising website to those that need it, but we would like to be clear that these tips are completely voluntary and are not required.

Payment processing fees
It’s important to know the difference between platform fees and payment processing fees. At Bonfarado.org we have chosen to make our fundraising platform free of charge, meaning that we receive 0% of all donations made. Payment fees on the other hand are taken from payment processors such as PayPal.
The standard processing fee is 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction which covers the payment processing fees and to make sure that you get a safe and easy transfer process. These fees will be deducted from the donation immediately. For example, if you donated $100 to a fundraising campaign, the payment processing fee would be $3.20 total (2.9% fee plus the $0.30 charge).
In an ideal world all payment processing charges would be scrapped, but as this is not the case, we do our best by making Bonfarado.org free to use for everyone, ensuring that as much as your donation as possible gets to where it’s needed most.
